Tonight is quiet with a light southeast wind and a layer of high clouds. Lows will range from cold middle 30s in inland counties to middle 40s in coastal counties. Near the beaches lows will stick in the upper 40s.
Tomorrow may not feel like the last day of January. Even while the sky will wear shades of gray you'll see lots of color in the buds and blooms. The month has been far warmer than average by six and a half degrees. Another way to look at it is our average temperature for this January has been about 6 weeks ahead of schedule. The February outlook from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center for our region is for warmer than average.
We end the month milder than average with highs tomorrow breaking 70 degrees. We'll keep the southeasterly wind as clouds thicken. Tomorrow night is when the showers move in. Lows will be milder, in the middle 50s.
Wednesday looks like a wet day to welcome February. Expect periods of rain and some thunderstorms. Highs will get close to 70.
The pattern remains unsettled, but mild through the weekend with a southerly wind. Rain chances go down low Thursday and Friday but not necessarily to zero. Those may be your next two better days this week for getting things done outside. Saturday and Sunday have higher rain chances but that doesn't necessarily mean a washout.
