Wet streets, showers, low clouds and a little fog are all things you will find tonight. Light to moderate rain will increase in coverage toward sunrise. At the same time, temperatures will slowly rise in the 50s due to a southeast breeze.
The weather system heads eastward tomorrow with the rain ending from west to east and skies clearing too. Unlike our summer showers that often pop up right where they are and fade away, our winter rain is often part of a larger system that moves steadily. By watching the radar you can time the end of the rain.
We'll have more practice with this into the weekend. Wednesday starts dry and bright but increasing clouds bring rain back by Wednesday evening. This next round of wet weather will dampen your Thursday with rain chances near 60%. It exits Thursday night and we get a dry break on Friday. On Saturday another low pressure system passes through and increases showers again. If the pattern holds as it is, Sunday would be dry.
The timing in all of this can quickly shift 6 or 12 hours so plan accordingly. At least our temperatures will not give the extreme cold that we dealt with recently. Nights will be in the 50s for most of us. Days will be mild in the lower 70s today through Thursday.
Weekend highs return to the 60s.
