A good comedian will tell you that timing is everything. That holds true in the sometimes serious world of weather. The clouds are coming in a lot faster tonight and tomorrow than what I had expected. Almost everything in my forecast from the last few days is now a half day earlier. That means that things that looked like they would occur at night may now occur in the day and forecast temperatures have to be adjusted.
Tonight becomes partly cloudy. Lows will range from the upper 30s for inland counties to the lower 40s along the I-10 corridor.
Tomorrow has clouds much thicker. We'll see light showers late in the afternoon but not everywhere. Most of us will stay dry. Highs will be in the lower 60s. Steadier rain will fall Friday night.
The positive about the shift in timing is that the weekend now looks dry. Both days deliver more sun than clouds. With dry air arriving sooner and stronger from the north we'll also be cooler this weekend. Highs on Saturday will settle in the upper 50s with a brisk northerly wind. Highs on Sunday stick in the middle 50s.
Nights will show an even more dramatic change. By Saturday night we'll easily end up anywhere from the upper 20s to the lower 30s giving us a light freeze.
