In Pensacola Beach people are watching bonnie very closely and local officials and tourists are given something new to occupy their minds and are trying to determine what they need to do next. You can already see some preparation for the storm at Casino Beach. Lifeguard stands have been moved a few yards further away from the shore. Meanwhile some tourists have to contend with a new challenge.
“Traveling from Louisiana to here and trying to get back home with my three year old the traffic it's a concern of mine,” says Melissa Martin. She’s visiting the area today from Baton Rouge.
In a tourist season already hurt by the slick a tropical system won’t help business. .
“We're hoping for the best but we're planning markdowns and we're just praying it blows over until Monday so we have a good weekend still,” says Jackie Bajuk with Islander’s Surf & Sport.
