GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A coroner says the last unidentified
Hurricane Katrina victim in Harrison County is 20-year-old Frank
Jones of Gulfport.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove revealed the identity of
the last victim Thursday.
Jones' body was found two days after Katrina's landfall in 2005
in a canal behind Garden Park Medical Center.
Hargrove says Jones' name was added to the missing list, but he
wasn't readily identified because the tattoo description given to
authorities did not match what was on the victim's body.
Jones was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery next to another
Katrina victim, 78-year-old James L. Blair of Pass Christian. Blair
was identified in 2007.
Hargrove said 97 people died during the storm in Harrison
County.
