Digital Journalist at WKRG
Blake Brown joined WKRG in August 2010 as an Associate Producer before joining the news team as a Digital Journalist shortly after. He is no stranger to the Gulf Coast having grown up on the Eastern Shore in Spanish Fort. He entered the media industry while still in high school by accepting a position with a local newspaper in Baldwin County. After a year of reporting, Blake was offered a position in radio with WYCT-FM in the Florida Panhandle. For three years Blake worked at the Pensacola station as the Assistant Promotions Director, Radio Personality and Traffic Reporter. In 2008 Blake switched markets and accepted an on-air position with the legendary WABB-FM in Mobile. Realizing that his real passion was journalism, Blake exited radio in 2010 and became a freelance videojournalist for south Mobile County during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill that devastated the Gulf Coast. His reports were featured on tourism websites across the southeast. Blake attended the University of South Alabama where he holds his B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. When not working you'll most likely find Blake on the beach or enjoying a local seafood restaurant. He is excited to continue his work on the Gulf Coast with WKRG.
