A big break for Leroy's Clint Moseley and the Auburn tigers.
It looks like they will not have to face one of the best players in the country when they take on No. 1 LSU on Saturday.
A person familiar with the decision says LSU has suspended three players, including star cornerback Tyran Mathieu, for reportedly failing a drug test.
Mathieu is regarded as the best defensive player in the country. He has forced four fumbles, returning two for touchdowns. Mathieu also has two interceptions and 42 tackles.
In addition to Mathieu, LSU has suspended Spencer Ware, the team's leading rusher, and defensive back Therold Simon.
LSU will only say the three players are involved in an internal matter that coach Les Miles "will handle accordingly."
Auburn coach Gene Chizik named Moseley, a former News 5 Player Of The Year, the starter on Tuesday. It will be his first start since winning the 2-A state championship game in 2008.
The game is Saturday ay 2:30 p.m. in Baton Rouge. You can watch it on WKRG.
