Tide Moves Up To Number 8 In AP Poll

Not since Gene Stallings was coach had
Alabama scored this many points in a Southeastern Conference game.
That's good news for Crimson Tide fans, who are hoping Nick
Saban can do what Stallings did - win a national championship.
Glen Coffee ran for 162 yards, and Alabama routed Arkansas 49-14
Saturday in its SEC opener. The Crimson Tide moved up a spot to No.
8 in this week's Associated Press ranking. Next up: A trip to play
No. 3 Georgia.
Alabama (4-0) didn't dominate statistically, but the Crimson
Tide pulled away with big plays early. Six of Alabama's seven
touchdowns covered at least 25 yards.
The Crimson Tide rushed for 328 yards. Alabama also returned two
interceptions for touchdowns for the first time in school history -
and scored its most points in an SEC game since a 59-28 win over
Vanderbilt in 1990.
