UNDATED (AP) - A convincing win over the 11th-ranked team in the
country has resulted in a unanimous Number 1 in The Associated
Press college football poll. A day after crushing Missouri 56-31,
Texas is in the top spot for a second week in a row, named first on
all 65 ballots cast by media members from across the nation. A week
after falling from third to 11th, Missouri drops to Number 16.
Alabama, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida and Southern California
hold steady at two through six. Oklahoma State is seventh,
flip-flopping with Texas Tech. Georgia slips up a spot to ninth and
Ohio State jumps two places to round out the top 10.
Running down 11 through 20, you've got LSU, Utah, Boise State,
South Florida, newcomer TCU checking in at Number 15, Missouri,
Pittsburgh, BYU, Kansas and Ball State.
It's all newcomers in the last five, with Georgia Tech at Number
21 followed by Tulsa, Boston College, Florida State and Minnesota.
