Auburn opens the 2007 football season against Kansas State on September first, the first of four consecutive home games. Auburn released the schedule today. The Tigers have not played Kansas State since 1979, when they defeated the Wildcats 26-to-18. The teams have only met twice. The Tigers host South Florida on September 8th, New Mexico State two weeks later and Tennessee Tech on November 3rd in nonconference games. Both Kansas State and South Florida played in bowl games last season. Auburn opens Southeastern Conference play on September 15th against Mississippi State. Most of the Tigers' biggest S-E-C games are on the road, including visits to defending national champion Florida (September 29th), L-S-U (October 20th) and Georgia (November 10th). Auburn will finish the regular season against Alabama on November 24th after an open date. It marks the first time since 1992 that Auburn and Alabama will play on Thanksgiving weekend.
