An oil spill victim who police said had his claim denied threatened to kill everyone inside a local claims office. Police aren't releasing the man's name because he's now in custody at a psychiatric hospital, but say the man threatened to open fire at a Gulf Coast Claims Facility, then kill himself.
Police put out a "BOLO" or Be on the Lookout" radio transmission and sent it to several agencies in Baldwin County. The man's threat prompted police agencies to tighten security at local claims offices in Orange Beach, Foley and Gulf Shores.
Officers took the threat seriously and are ready to respond to more possible threats of violence this week. Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon explosion.
