Baldwin County and city leaders met with BP Monday night to talk about what is and isn't working when it comes to the oil giant's response to the spill. One of BP's most vocal critics, Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon, says local officials and BP are finally getting on the same page, but he says he'll continue to keep a close eye on what's happening in his city where tourism is down 50 percent," BP came in, they sat down with us, they talked about mistakes they've made, they want to try to go a different direction and I feel like we're on the same page now. Now, I reserve the right to get on their case tomorrow if we need to. But, right now, I feel like we are going in the right direction," said Kennon. You can make a claim with BP by calling 1-800-440-0858. BP Vice President, Kris Sliger, was at Monday night's meeting in Orange Beach. He says the average response time for an individual claim is 4 days. Some get their money faster than that, for others, it takes longer. He also tells us the average response time for a business is 7 days.
