Our team coverage of President Obama's 4th visit to the Gulf Coast and 1st visit to our area carried through Noon today.
The president landed at Trent Lott Air Guard Combat Readiness Training Center around 10:20 this morning. He shook hands with Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and talked with local leaders before heading to the state port in Gulfport, Mississippi. He is expected to meet with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Representative Gene Taylor there.
The president will be making his way westward to tour the areas that have been devastated by the spill. His complete itinerary is not known, but we believe he will be making a stop on Dauphin Island. He is then expected to ferry over to Fort Morgan. News 5 reporter Kimberly Curth is there and will have a live report at 5 and 6.
The president is then expected to make a stop in Theodore to tour the staging and decontamination area. News 5 reporter Kesshia Peyton has been there all day and will have a live update for us tonight.
