It’s one of the parades that generate the most interest in Mobile. The Joe Cain Parade—AKA “The People’s Parade” rolled through downtown Mobile today. Dozens of floats and hundreds of marchers were part of the spectacle—including Chief Slack and Joe Cain’s Merry Widows. This is the one parade out of the season where any group can take part.

“It gives everyone a chance to participate on some level in what is one of our greatest events,” says Monica Knight with the Mobile County Health Department. The parade is one of the highlights of Joe Cain day. Thousands of people are flooding downtown to have a look at the celebrations.
