Apart from the noise of a jet engine, you'll also hear the roar of construction around Keesler Air Force Base. Since the devastation of hurricane Katrina, workers have rebuilt more than 500 buildings on base. There are at least 12 new construction projects going on right now. Among them, the base is getting a new commissary, events center and more than 1000 family housing units. Officials say the new buildings are vital to Keesler's future.
