Eight witnesses took the stand on the first day of testimony in the Lam Luong capital murder trial. From the children's mother to the investigator who heard Luong's first confession, the jury heard an earful.
During opening arguments, prosecutors say the Irvington father threw his four young kids off the Dauphin Island Bridge last year so he could see the look on his wife's face. Prosecutors also said Luong was on crack and that he told investigators that they charge him "if" they found the bodies and started laughing.
Luong's attorney said this is an unusual trial and he won't argue with most of the state's case. But he asked jurors to hear this case with an open mind and come to their own conclusions.
