If you look around the Maids of Mirth float selection you'll begin to notice a certain theme
“Well you can find the pink pony pub pink lipstick and the pink panther, there's a lot of pink behind us,” says a masked woman who only would only identify herself as “Miss MOM.” The floats are pink this year due to the fact that it's Valentine's Day and pink for the fire that burned down this group's float barn last year. Tonight M-O-M wants people to say W-O-W.
“It's great, we've had a great time and all our husbands have come out to watch us,” says Miss MOM. Most parade goers say it takes awhile of sitting and chilling out to get just the right spot for their parade. Leon and his family got to the parades super early today and camped out along South Royal Street.
“With all my beautiful family and all my beautiful daughters happy Mardi Gras and happy Valentine's Day to everybody,” says Leon. It was a good crowd and thankfully everyone stayed dry tonight.
