The Coast Guard Foundation is standing by to support the families affected by the crash of CG-6535 in Mobile, Alabama on the night of Feb. 28. According to Commandant of the Coast Guard, Admiral Robert J. Papp, one crew member has died and three others are missing. The Coast Guard, along with other first responder agencies, continue to search for the missing crew members.

The Coast Guard identified the crew members today. Deceased is Chief Petty Officer Fernando Jorge. Missing are Petty Officer 3rd Class Andrew Knight, Lt. j.g. Thomas Cameron and Lt. Cmdr. Dale Taylor.
As Adm. Papp said, "The aircrew and families must be our first priority. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we move through the next few days."
The following Coast Guard assets are currently assisting in the search:
- The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Stingray, homeported in Mobile
- Two MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crews from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans
- One MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla.
- Two 26-foot Trailerable Aids-to-Navigation Boats and crews from Coast Guard Sector Mobile
- Coast Guard Gulf Strike Team
- Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team San Diego dive team
- Alabama Marine Resources
- Mobile County Sheriff's Department
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
