Just when we thought we'd seen it all- the animal neglict nightmare continues in Baldwin County.
In Robertsdale, police removed 27 abandoned animals at a home this morning- a house owned by the owners of the Summerdale animal rescue facility that was raided Thursday night.
Dogs and cats near starvation were removed from the Robertsdale home. Three kittens had died inside the home.
The animals hadn't eaten or had water for at least 10 days.
Seven goats were also removed. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is now caring for the goats.
Robertsdale Police charged Sharon Dueitt with 20 counts of animal cruelty.
In Summerdale, Sharon and her mother, Roberta Dueitt face 40 counts of animal cruelty. Sharon Dueitt turned herself into to police in Robertsdale this evening and posted bond.
Investigators have asked the Baldwin County District Attorney's Office to upgrade the charges to felonies.
