The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office tells News 5 they believe a mother accidentally backed over her three-year-old son in the driveway of their home. The child was killed.
It happened around 11:15 a.m. on Leila Wilson Road in the Stapleton community.
Investigators say James Cartee was apparently playing behind the vehicle. They don't think his mom, Falisha, ever knew he was there.
The little boy was taken by helicopter to USA Medical Center in Mobile where he was pronounced dead just before noon.
The incident is still under investigation by the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office, but again, they believe the incident was accidental.
