It's been a tough go in Orange Beach, one of the cities hit hardest by the BP Oil Spill. But officials say things are looking up, as the mayor gave his State of the City Address Tuesday night.
Mayor Tony Keenon says tourists are coming back in numbers equal to before the spill. But one problem for the city, is they aren't spending as much money.
"Everybody was being protective of their dollars and i understand that in this economy. So when folks here about the grand summer we had. that's great and we were glad they were here, but it didn't translate to a lot more dollars than we have had in the past," said Kennon.
The city could soon be getting some extra relief in the form of restore act funds
for fines levied against BP. But no time table has been set on when the money
will go out.
