Daphne Fire Under Control

Seven volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire at Green Automotive repair shop in Daphne Saturday afternoon.

Investigators have not released information about how the fire started, but it happened around 1:00pm.

At least half of the building burned to the ground, including a couple of cars being worked on at the time. Nobody was inside, and nobody was injured.

The fire did not damage any surrounding buildings, but did come about fifteen feet away from a neighbor's trailer.

Highway 181 between Pleasant Road and Highway 64 was still closed as of 3:30pm Saturday afternoon.
