A new health clinic has opened in the Trinity Gardens community for low income patients. It's called "Hands of Hope Health Center." It's located on Beltline Park Drive North. The center just opened Monday, and it being run by nurse practitioner, Cynthia Washintgon.
Wanting to help people who do not have health insurance, Washington used her own money to open the clinic. She also received small donations from two churches. Her staff consists of mainly volunteers.
She says there is a huge need in the Trinity Garden community for affordable health care. "I am excited. I am excited I was obedient to God to step out on faith to use what I had to get started, and I know that he will provide. Regardless, he will provide for us to sustain here."
The clinic is only open three days a week at this point (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday), but Washington hopes to expand to four days a week in the spring. They are accepting patients with or without insurance. For more information, call (251)287-6154.
