The initial rush and panic of a brutal crime has given way to quiet streets in a neighborhood where Albino Rodriguez called home. He had lived and worked here for about six years. Billy Readman called him a friend and is still trying to get deal with his loss. "They're real good friends of ours and like I said, it was shocking. It's the only way I could put it." Friends and neighbors are still dealing with the shock and trauma of the murder but they also have another concern. How to get Rodriguez's body back to his native Honduras for a proper burial. "We're all trying to pull together put the funds together and get his body back to Honduras." Readman says according to the Honduran embassy the cost of sending his friend home is around five thousand dollars. "We've been going from church to church. We've been handing out flyers," trying to raise the money for one more act of kindness for a man that was more than just a friend. "We will always remember him as a good, hard working, honest, Hispanic human being." Rodriguez's body was released to Gilmer Funeral Home in Mobile. They have also been in touch with family members and the Honduran consulate. The only delay now is the cost.
