Authorities say a 20-year-old Auburn University sophomore has died, two days after a one-car accident on U.S. Highway 280 in western Lee County.

Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson says 20-year-old Elizabeth "Libbie" Ainsworth died at a hospital in Columbus, Ga.

Ainsworth was a 2010 graduate of Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas, and was pursuing a degree in interior design, with plans on graduating in the summer of 2014.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports that she was traveling with boyfriend Drew Cole, a member of Auburn's football team, early Sunday evening when their vehicle lost control. She died on Tuesday.
