Charles Lewis, a former teacher at Causey Middle School who was accused of molestating a young child in 2010, has died. Lewis passed away from natural causes while awaiting trial.
Lewis was booked into the Baldwin County jail in January of 2010 charged with sexual abuse of a child under age 12. He had also been arrested for DUI.
Baldwin County District Attorney, Hallie Dixon, said in a statement, "We can only hope that this child and the family will find closure and some degree of relief in not having to go through the trial process."
