Two women, behind bars for robbing a convenience store, are linked to a violent home invasion.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says Verna Sealey and Leandra Austin knocked on Jeffrey Sharp's door on December 2 and forced their way in, armed with a shotgun.
They ordered Sharp to lie on the ground.
Austin, who was holding the shotgun, then asked "Where is the money?". When Sharp claimed he didn't have any money, deputies say Austin hit him several times with the shotgun.
The women searched through Sharp's house, took his cordless phone and left.
Three days before Christmas, the women were arrested by Pensacola police for robbing a Circle K. Sealey and Austin still had Sharp's cordless phone with them.
When the Sheriff's Office finally linked Sealey and Austin to the home invasion, they didn't have to go far to find them. Sealey is being held on a $387,000 bond for the Circle K robbery. Austin is being held without bond for the same robbery.
