High speed Chase Ends in One Arrest

A routine traffice stop in Saraland leads to a highspeed chase ending in Prichard. 

Saraland Police say when they pulled over a vehicle to conduct a traffic stop on Wedenesday around 5:05 p.m., the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. 

A chase ensued leading police to Prichard where they say the driver came to an abrupt stop.

Officers say the driver and passengers jumped out of the vehicle and ran.  Prichard Police helped in the capture of the front seat passenger, identified as Woodley Gibbs, 24 years old, of Mobile.  Officers say he was apprehended about 2 blocks away. 

Police recovered 2 large bags of a plant type material, 2 hand rolled cigarettes, digital scales, and a bottle of a clear liquid.  The recovered items were submitted to DFS for analysis. 

Gibbs was placed under arrest for the above charges and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.  If anyone has any information on the identity of the driver or on the other passenger, please contact the Saraland Police Department at 251-675-5331.
