Electronics, jewelry, tools almost everything but the kitchen sink. "A large seizure of stolen property and goods taken in those burglaries." Not to mention counterfeit 20 dollar bills. "If you don't know what you're looking for you will take this and think it is legitimate," says Fairhope Police Sgt. Craig Sawyer. Thieves have been at work for months in neighborhoods throughout central Baldwin County. "The two people we have so far have been tied to those burglaries. We believe there are two or three others that were working with them on these burglaries," says Sawyer. Police haven't figured out how the crooks picked their victims but they do know they hit at least seven cities and committed at least 50 burglaries. "My husband got home and thought he'd left the door open." It happened about two weeks ago to Cindy Erickson. "Then he got upstairs and the front gate was opened and realized something was wrong, saw the bed was all messed up and the drawers were all open and that's when he realized someone had come in and burglarized us." Now she's trying to reclaim what thieves took. "Mainly I got my Coach purses back and I got a pocket watch that belonged to my great grandmother. That was important."
