The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office worked a home invasion robbery overnight. The robbery occurred at 8121 Gulf Beach Lane on Fort Morgan around 10:00 pm.
The four suspects arrested were Robert Berns Jr., Shelby Scarborough, Brandon Pierce and Cheslee Ladewig. All four are charged with first robbery degree. Scarborough was also arrested for promoting prison contraband 2nd degree for bringing marijuana into the jail.
The investigation revealed that the four suspects planned the robbery of the victim. They knew he was a drug dealer who sold marijuana and mushrooms. Authorities say the plan was to enter the house and take all drugs and money from the victim at gunpoint.
The victim in this case was also arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The pistol used in the robbery turned out to be an air powered pellet gun.
