FOLEY, Alabama --
If Santa Claus worked on Thanksgiving, this is probably what he'd be doing
Stuffed inside Foley Elementary school all the fixings for a thanksgiving feast and then some.
Volunteers with "Turkey Take-Out" are about to hit the road. Loading up vehicles with groceries and meals, 500 people will get something they might have missed this holiday.
"We're happy to meet their need. We're happy to hand them hope in a box or hope in a bag. We're stocking their pantry and letting them know somebody cares," says Pastor Todd Forrest before sending the drivers out to make deliveries.
A little after 10 o'clock Thanksgiving morning everyone is on the road scattered throughout south Baldwin County making deliveries. We are headed to Megan Berry's home.
She is like a lot of folks this time of year. Happy to be one of the lucky ones. "They are really helping us out this year. Really blessed to have you guys on board and I really do appreciate everything they've done for me."
Unpacking the bags of canned goods. She is filled with relief and gratitude.
"This will get us through definitely. I was falling a little short. I'm not gonna lie to you."
For the first time her family will enjoy something most take for granted. A thanksgiving meal at home.
