More than 100 people attended a county-wide education summit in Daphne Friday morning.
Topics discussed were leadership, college readiness and improving communications.
The school district's financial situation was also discussed- including the one-percent school sales tax.
Voters passed the one cent emergency school sales tax in March of 2010. School leaders say the temporary, three-year tax will generate 75 million dollars- money needed to offset a multi-million dollar budget shortfall.
A task force is exploring ways to generate money for the school system when the emergency tax expires.
