Summerdale Police say Juan Jarquin ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 59 and 32, hit another driver and left the scene.

Jarquin has been charged with assault but his biggest problem? He's in the country illegally.

Jarquin- who's from Mexico- was also charged with violating Alabama's immigration law.

Police Chief Eddie Ingram says his officers found not one, but two fake I-D's in Jarquin's pick-up truck.

Ingram says his officers aren't targeting Hispanics but tells News 5 his department will aggressively enforce the new law.

The names of the two other suspected illegal immigrants haven't been released.
