Baldwin EMC is teaming up with LifeSouth Community Blood Center, one of our local community blood centers, to hold its sixth annual “Power of Giving” blood drive on Thursday, November 3, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the company’s headquarters in Summerdale.
This year’s drive is also a health fair, where participants can take advantage of free offers like blood pressure checks and many other pre-diagnostic screenings. South Baldwin Hospital will also be giving flu shots.
The drive will start at 8 a.m. at Baldwin EMC’s training center located just behind the main building on Highway 59 in Summerdale. Donors need to be at least 17 years old, weigh no less than 110 pounds, and have not donated blood in the past 8 weeks. Please remember to have with you a valid form of I.D.
Along with blood donations, Baldwin EMC will be accepting non-perishable food contributions. Donations can be dropped off at the training center beginning at 8 a.m. All food donations will be distributed to needy families through Catholic Social Services in Robertsdale.
We will also be collecting all types of pet food - dry and canned - for dogs and cats, and cat litter, on behalf of the Baldwin County Humane Society.
The drive is scheduled to end at 4:30 p.m.
