A two-vehicle crash near Bayou La Batre claimed the life of a local man early Monday evening. John C. Roscoe, 28, of Grand Bay was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Alabama Highway 188 when he collided head-on with a 1999 Chevrolet pick-up truck.
The truck was driven by Edward L. Walker, 42, of Coden. Roscoe, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Satsuma Street. Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash; alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
