Some midtown Mobile residents lost more than an hour of sleep and not because of the Daylight Savings time change.
A man in a pickup truck hit at least two parked cars and a utility pole, snapping it in half, before he plowed through a fence and into a front yard, nearly hitting a house.
The wreck happened on South Reed, between Dauphin Street and McGill Avenue, just before the 2:00 a.m. time change.
34 year old Tarver Shelton was headed north on South Reed. Based on his trail of damage, the driver hit a pickup on the east side of the street, then the utility pole on the west side. He then rear-ended a car on the east side of the street, spinning it around and pushing it onto the sidewalk, before slamming through the fence.
