Shane Williams spends his summer catering to tourists. Tuesday he and his buddy Ryan saved a tourists life.
"He's out there riding around having a good time and fell of the ski. I guess he got hit by something, reacted and got back on the ski and back at the beach realized how bad it was," says Williams.
A 20 year old tourist from Louisiana had been bitten by what was most likely a bull shark.
"The bull shark came up and grabbed him like this and ripped him open here," Williams explain. "Tore all his tendons, you could see his achilles, see the bone and it cut him over here pretty bad."
Shane and Ryan will be the first to tell you things happen for a reason because on any other day they would have been on a para-sail boat. But on this day the boat was in the shop and they were on the beach in the right place at the right time to help save a life.
"He had already lost a lot of blood and he was pretty pale," says Ryan Price-Williams. "His blood pressure was pretty low so another minute or two if something hadn't of stopped the bleeding he would have probably passed away."
Ryan should know, he was an Army medic and that training helped him when a stranger needed it most. "I called the hospital a few times last night and he got through surgery last night and the nurse said everything went well and he's okay."
