Two Men Arrested After Wedding Brawl

What's supposed to be the happiest day in a woman's life was anything but when her wedding turned into a family fued.

The Jackson County Sheriffs Department arrested two men Saturday at a wedding reception in Van Cleave. They say Joseph Penton and Joseph Peco beat Herman Penton in the head with a PVC pipe and tire tool. Joseph Penton is Herman's brother. Joseph Peco is his nephew.

Deputies do not know exactly why the brawl started. But they say the men were arguing about something and that alcohol was definitely a factor.

Herman Penton was taken to the hospital where he received several stitches and staples to his face and head.

Joseph Penton and Peco are charged with aggravated assault. Bond was set at $20,000.

After his arrest, deputies learned Penton is wanted for probation violation in Covington, Louisiana.
