It appears mosquitos are attracted to the smell of stinky feet, and researchers in Tanzania are using that attraction to combat the spread of malaria in the country.
A scientific team has developed a potent serum -- similar to that of human foot odor -- to lure and kill mosquitoes. The synthetic smell is used outdoors in so-called "mosquito landing boxes" to nab the insects known for carrying malaria.
Malaria kills about 800-thousand people a year. Most of the victims are children in Africa.
