Baldwin County Sheriff's investigators say an Elberta man tried to kill his wife before killing himself.
It happened around 9:30 this morning at a home on Daw Road in Elberta.
Elberta Police arrived to find that Evelyn Polk had been stabbed in the chest and back.
She was flown to the hospital where she is listed in good condition.
Her husband, Eddie Polk, was found dead inside the home, the victim of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case as an assault and a suicide.
