We contacted Baldwin County's 13 law enforcement agencies about District Attorney Hallie Dixon's accusation she found criminal cases that were not prosecuted or pursued by former D-A Judy Newcomb.
Four of the agencies told us Newcomb often times failed to prosecute "slam-dunk" cases. Most of the police chiefs and detectives we talked to did not want to be identified, but say Newcomb's staff was overworked, unorganized and at times, misplaced or even lost important case files.
Earlier this week, Dixon accused Newcomb of "sabotage" and told reporters the former D-A left the office in a "mountain of chaos." Newcomb later responded and told reporters Dixon is a liar.
