The first phase of major revitilazation project in Prichard is nearing completion. Twenty-five new homes are going up in the Snug Harbor area.
Its part of a $20 million federal grant to redevelop areas in the city. Officials hope to have these homes done and ready to be rented in about five weeks.
"This is a positive program to help families move into a decent safe sanitary enviornment," said Charles Hall of the Prichard Housing Authority.
After finishing this phase they're targeting other parts of the city, including some demolition projects in the Alabama Village neighborhood.
