An employee with the City of Fairhope was injured while working on a power line located on South Section Street at Morphy Avenue.

Authorities say Greg McCoy was taken to USA Medical Center in Mobile by Life-Flight helicopter.  His condition has not been released.

Mr. Scott Sligh, Superintendent of the Electric Department, says McCoy was wearing all required safety equipment at the time and that the exact circumstances that led to the accident are under investigation.

A power outage occurred as a result of the accident, affecting wide-spread areas of Fairhope, but electrical service has been restored.
