Dozens of New York City firefighters driving seven moving trucks stuffed full of toys- 200-thousand dollars worth of toys-are dropping off Christmas goodies to families in need.
This is the 7th trip the men have made from the Big Apple. The firefighters started bringing Christmas toys to victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They tell News 5 they're simply returning the favor after the Gulf Coast helped them recover after the September 11th attacks.
The firefighters will drop off the toys at five distribution sites in SW Alabama and in Coastal Mississippi this week.
The men have also brought food for hungry families.
Since 2005, the firefighters have donated more than two million dollars worth of toys.
