Greg Williamson's body is battered and sore. Two weeks ago, the Foley man was attacked...stabbed 14 times with a pair of garden shears at a mobile home on C.C. Road near Elberta.
Williamson has knife wounds on his back, his face and his neck. One of the knife wounds punctured a lung.
"I was bleeding everywhere. I would have sunk like a ship I had so many holes in me," says Williamson. "The doctors and surgeons told me it was a miracle I was alive."
Police say Trayvis Minnifield, Williamson's renter, is responsible for the brutal attack. Williamson says they were friends...until he was nearly killed.
On Thursday, police in Opelika, Alabama, picked up Minnifield at a relative's house. Minnifield had been on the run since the night of the attack. Minnifield has been charged with felony assault and burglary. He could be brought back to Baldwin County as early as next week.
Investigators say a grand jury could review the case to determine if "attempted murder" charges are warranted.
"In my heart I forgive him, but in my mind, I want him to pay," says Williamson.
Williamson faces six months or more of doctor's visits and rehab...medical attention Williamson says he can't afford. Williamson says the attack has left him unable to work.
Williamson's family is considering holding fundraisers to help pay for mounting medical bills and is asking the community to help.
