Search Called Off For Missing Boater

The Coast Guard suspended its search for Kenneth Boyer Monday evening.

Crews searched for approximately 58 hours, covering more than 3,000 nautical miles, in an effort to locate Boyer.

Crews from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island, Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Coast Guard Cutter Coho, the Bon Secour Fire Department, Mobile County Sheriff's Department, Dauphin Island Police and the Alabama Marine Police searched for the overdue boater.

 

 

Authorities say the men set out on a boat from Dauphin Island around 11 a.m. Saturday to fish the rigs about 15 to 20 miles offshore.

The first man was rescued from the water Sunday. He has been identified as 32-year-old Jacob Shenesey. A second Victim, Darryl Corley,  was pulled from the water later.
