Alabama's New Immigration Law Hurting Farmers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Alabama's new immigration law is already having an effect on farming, that's according to Alabama Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan.

"they're (farmers) are very concerned that they're not going to be able to get those same employees back," McMillan says.

He met with farmers in Escambia County, Alabama on Tuesday afternoon and noticed that a lot of crops haven't been picked. Farmers blame the immigration law and say their migrant workers have left the area.
