The children of a man who died after being hit by a Mobile Police officer responding to a call, are speaking out about him and their mother, who is still in critical condition tonight.
The police car hit Mike and Mary Bragg as they were crossing Government Street last Friday night.
They've been visiting Mary in the intensive care unit, and spending time with Mike's 10 month old daughter, Lucy.
Mike Bragg said, "Still, its pretty touch and go. They're just trying to stabilize her lungs. She's got a lot of contusions and a lot of bruising."
Bragg said his mother has been unconscious since she was brought in.
Still, he, and his sister Christina, talk to her, but not about her husband's death.
Mike Bragg said, "My parents were married for 42 years, madly in love. I cant imagine my mother without my father, so, we're not going to tell her anything until she's making pretty much a full recovery."
When asked how difficult has this been, Christina said, " I live next to my parents in Kansas City. Its beyond devastating."
Mike said his father was a wonderful grandfather, too.
Hee said, "The one thing we have is the memory of my father. He is just the greatest man, the greatest father to us. I mean, every pee wee game, every football game, he goes to everyone of the grandkids. He would come home from a trip, and he'd be driving for 15 hours, and, the first thing he would do would be stop over and see the grandkids."
And the Braggs say their mother is just as loving.
Mike Bragg said, "I know she would be praying for the police officer that hit her, just because, I know he's going through problems, and, I just know the type of mom she is. She's just a wonderful person."
Christina said, "We're not leaving until mom comes home to Kansas City with us, will not."
And Mike added, "We have those memories, and no one can take those from us. And, my mom is going to have those memories. We're just going to spoil her rotten, as soon as she gets out of there."
