News 5 Sports Director Randy Patrick dropped the green flag last night on the WKRG TV 5, 55 at Mobile International Speedway in Irvington. The 55 is a special modified feature race at the track. In the end, track veteran Gerald Wilkerson took the checkered flag and the $1,455 first prize.
As a warm-up to the feature, fans enjoyed the heat and feature races for the bomber and sportsman classes. The track is celebrating its first year under the management of NASCAR truck series racer Rick Crawford, who learned to race at MIS.
