A Thursday night single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Mobile County man. Bryan K. Whitwam, 31, of Chunchula was killed when the vehicle he was driving, a 1984 Chevrolet pickup, entered into a curve, left the roadway and overturned into a ditch, entrapping Whitwam.
Trooper Greg Eubanks of the Alabama Department of Public Safety sent out a news release of the incident Friday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. on U.S. Highway 45 approximately 10 miles north of Prichard.
Whitwam was not wearing a seat belt. The initial investigation indicates that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Whitwam was pronounced dead at the scene. State Troopers say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
